Mighty Achillès: Hard-Hearted man

Achillès' decisions as a king were in appropriate. Chuck Noris, once said. "Men are like steel. When they lose their temper, they lose their worth".With his great rage over king Agamemnon, many were killed during the Trojan War.

In Books 9-11, we have witnessed Achillès as hard-hearted man. It was evident how angry he was to Agamenmon. He even answered. Prince Odysseus with out respect and warred Phoenix his father - like of hatred if he will insist him to forgive Agamemnon. Due to his anger to Agamemnon, he refused to help him in battle and this meant sacrificing the life of the people.

Achillès was a great warrior, if only he set aside hi pride, things would turn out different. He was a mighty warrior Which made him to be proud. Now that Agamemnon asked help from him he became prouder.
As a king, he should have thought of what is good for the people and his men. louis XIV, even paid "a, if i were not a king, I should lose my temper" That only tells that kings are not supposed to lose their tempers. As a ruler , decisions made must be for the better and not influenced by temper. According to Fold Trick, Decisions made in anger are never sound. If only he broke free from his anger, they could have won the battle easily.

Says the Powerful

1. Narrate how King Agamemnon shows stubbornness of heart in books 1-5.
         · Cite modern day examples/people who display the same stubbornness of heart.

Stubbornness and greediness is evident to those powerful in the society.

King Agamemnon of how rich and powerful people afflict the poor an unprivileged citizens.  He was mulish that he wants to get what he thinks is for him. Aside from him avaricious that he does not care at all Trojans will suffer the consequence of his prize. This attitude of his was obvious is the first book of Iliad where in he won't release Briseis though the Trojans were already is misery due to Apollo's anger. He also claims to be first in all. This started his fight with Achilles.  He who believes will benefit him.

Nowadays, Agamemnon's character can be compared to the kind of government officials we have. Those in the position were put into office because they were aggressive enough to stand up and say "I". Once they are already there, they would not let people pull them down, the more they want to fell safe and secure. They use the poor people especially during elections to put them to power. That is why political campaigns are usually themed "for the poor". Since the majority of the voters are the poor  and uneducated people which we call the masses, they please them as hard as the can to put their selves into power. Once, they are elected, they no longer call to these unprivileged people. When the feel, some officers are found better than them they do everything to overcome these officers.

These are also lots of Agamemnon is our everyday life. Businessman please their employers because they could get profit from them. If these employees will rally against them, this would mean a great less in their business just like what happened to PAL.  Agamemnon could also be your classmate or officemate. Filipino have these personality of crab mentality. They pull people down so no one could over power them.
As people become more powerful, the more they become weak for they are afraid of defeat or lose
